Day 2
Monday, April 30
Gene works with a man who has also brought his family to stay at the AKL. We run into John, Martha and Jackie on the bus heading over to Disney-MGM Studios.
They joined us for a quick trip on the Tower of Terror...
...and then we went our separate ways. Gene and I just had to go on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, it's our favorite ride. The good thing about long lines is that you can get a good look at all of the concert posters and old record players. Record player, what's a record player? But there were no lines today, so we just ran right past.
Beauty and the Beast is Gene's favorite Disney movie. We've even seen it on Broadway, but we've never seen the show at Disney Studios. Until today...
It's wonderful!
The show is condensed into approximately 20 minutes...
... but the story doesn't suffer.
We both cried.
And I can't wait to see it again!
The WDW part of our vacation is short and we're just visiting our favorites at Disney - MGM Studios and spending most of our time exploring Epcot. So, we head back to the AKL and take a quick dip in the pool and then head off to Epcot to explore some more countries.
We take a quick walk through France...
... and after lunch at Alfredos and a peek into the shops in Germany...
... we come across the Bug Adventure Garden. We can't go in right now because it just rained and it's very slippery.
We do a little shopping at the Outpost and Gene finds a hat he likes.
We take our time walking around China and stop to appreciate the buildings and gardens. The outside of the Temple of Heaven is gorgeous!
And so is the ceiling on the inside.
We aren't staying for the movie this time, but I love to relax and listen to these musicians.
We always go into the Stave Church in Norway...
But this is the first time we've gone on the Viking ship.
As we're leaving the park, we happen across this little party truck. Looks like a fun time.
We're spending the evening at the AKL. We're having dessert and cordials in the concierge lounge and then we're making an early night of it because we have to get up early tomorrow for the Sunrise Safari.
