Day 4 - 7/1
Are you still sleeping? It's almost 7:00 am, time to get up! We're going to Disney-MGM Studios for early entry. Last one to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is a rotten egg! Here comes our limo now.
First thing in the morning is the best time to come over here. I'm glad we didn't have to wait in line a long time. Good thing Gene stopped on the way and got fast passes for Tower of Terror. We get to go right in and walk past all those people standing in line.
EEK! All the seats have seat belts! But I like to hold onto the safety bar. I guess if I hold onto this little bar between the seats with one hand and the seat belt with the other hand.... AAhhhhhh. That was fun. The ride is never as scary as my imagination before it starts.
Our next stop is the Villains Shop. This is where Justin likes to look at the Nightmare Before Christmas souvenirs. He's getting a bobble-head Jack figure this time. C'mon up here, Gene is buying us all cookies, take your pick. I'm having chocolate chip.
As long as we're here, I want to stop at the Brown Derby. It's not open yet, but the woman inside is letting me come in to take some pictures. We haven't eaten here yet, but I'm sure we will.
Now that the 100 Year's Celebration is over, they changed the design under the Sorcerer's Hat. Do you like it?
The Great Movie Ride is finally open. We haven't been here in ages, let's go in. I'm going in the right line this time. The right line gets the cowboys and the left line gets the mobsters.
This vacation has been really good for taking pictures. Since we weren't planning on doing much due to the heat and crowds, no one minds if I stop and take pictures. We weren't planning on doing anything else here today and it's still early, so why don't we go over to Epcot for a little while?
I want to stop at Innoventions East. You go ahead and play, I want to take some pictures and check out this Mission: Space exhibit. I always wondered how they go to the bathroom in outer space. :)
I'm surprised my kids don't ask to come to Innoventions more often. I think they like the other side more.
Let's go over to the Universe of Energy, we haven't done that in a long time. I'll take some pictures there, but I'm not using flash so they might not turn out. The last time we were here we had to wait a long time, but this time the pre-show is almost over so the wait isn't bad at all. Thank goodness. It's never been one of our favorites.
How about one more stop, since we're already here? We're heading for the Wonders of Life. I hear stories of people getting sick on Body Wars, but it never bothered me. It's sort of boring. But I am a big fan of Cranium Command. I really like the movie more than the inside show, especially when General Knowledge yells, "Where do you think you are, Disney World?"
We're getting hungry, let's get out of here. After a little bit of discussion, we decide to go to the Grand Floridian Cafe. Gene and I have eaten here before, but the kids never have. I think it's a pretty restaurant and the sandwiches are good. Rachel isn't very hungry and is just getting Strawberry Shortcake.
Now.... I'm not really going to get into this, but.... Rachel and Justin have a bit of a spat and Justin is angrier than I've ever seen him. To the point where he leaves and goes out to the lobby when he finishes eating. Major meltdown. This is so not fun. :(
So we're going back to the room. We need to rest up for E-Ride tonight. Justin won't even lie in the same bed with Rachel to play video games, he grabs his stuff and parks on the floor. Now I get to trip over him when I get up.
But we already have our tickets for E-Ride and we're going. Justin still won't have anything to do with Rachel, he won't even sit next to her. I hope this ends soon. We're making a bee-line for Carousel of Progress. We haven't been on this in years and the kids have never been on it. I wish they would open it back up permanently.
We're early for E-Ride and Tomorrowland is pretty crowded. Let's walk over to Fantasyland. Hmmmm, it's crowded over here, too. The only thing that isn't crowded is It's a Small World. We might as well go on, I'll take some pictures. :) I must be getting old, this ride doesn't bother me as much as it used to.
We wanted to eat dinner at Pinocchio's Village Haus, but it's closed already. I wonder what time it closed. Oh well, we're going to eat at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. Say hello to Sonny!

Justin is still mad at Rachel and won't sit next to her. After dinner we decide to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Of course Justin won't sit with Rachel so I have to sit with him. We ride twice while we wait for E-Ride to start and we notice that the lines to Space Mt. and Buzz Lightyear are still really long. This is when we finally figure out that the park is open later than the hours that were posted on the internet and E-Ride doesn't start for another hour. This is going downhill fast. And Justin is limping, he says that he chafed on the inside of his thighs. We manage a few rides, Snow White, Peter Pan, the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mt. Now the adults have had enough; we're sick of fighting children, grouchy children, later hours than expected, heat and crowds. We've had enough, we're going back to the room.
Justin trips as we're walking down Main St. and accuses us of laughing at him. This is where Mom puts him in his place. I told him that he made everyone miserable enough that none of us were laughing. He didn't understand that, being a teenager and thinking only of himself. So I told him how it is, I said, "In case you haven't noticed, Dad and I enjoy affection and we couldn't sit on one ride together and cuddle because you were busy being a baby. Rachel might have done something that you didn't like, but you played a part, too. You pushed and agitated all morning. Are you never going to talk to her again, or just not until you ruin our whole vacation?"
So, at long last they made up. I'm going for a dip in the quiet pool. I hope you had more fun today than I did.
