Day 5 - 3/5
Wake up, sleepy head... are you going to sleep all day? Do you know what today is??? It's our 20th Anniversary! Help yourself to some cereal or a breakfast burrito and then change into your swimsuit - we're going to Typhoon Lagoon! You can change there if you want, but we're just going to wear our swimsuits and a big t-shirt. I have my disposable, waterproof camera and I'm going to take some pictures to add to my site. I usually don't wear contacts anymore, but I have a pair of disposables just to wear for my time at Typhoon Lagoon... I want to be able to see what I'm taking pictures of and where I'm going.
Gene rented a locker for us and a couple of towels. Now, we just need to find a spot with a couple of seats where we can leave our towels and t-shirts. If you don't mind a bit of a walk, we usually park our stuff near Shark Reef. Okay, you ready? Everyone run to the wave pool! Just look at my crazy kids, they have to be all the way in front. Not me. I'm staying right here at 5 feet where I can touch the bottom. Gene just goes back and forth to play with all of us. I don't know how those kids can tread water for so long, but they're not leaving the front. Uh oh, here comes a big wave!
Duck!
Okay, lets take a break. Hey, do you guys want to go in the lazy river? I've never seen it so crowded. That line is long and there are no more rafts. Oh, well, back to the wave pool. That's all the kids want to do anyway. They don't even want to go on any slides. Look, they've changed the waves, now it's constant little waves. I don't remember this happening before. It's a nice change. But enough is enough. I'm going to walk around a little more and take some pictures. Maybe I'll just sit in this chair for a bit and get a tan. What are you doing here, Gene? Tired of the waves. Let's go find the kids and do something else.
Hmmmm, I don't see them, do you? Why don't you go in and look for them in the wave pool and I'll go back to the chairs and see if they're there. Nope, they're not at the chairs, but there's no reason for all of us to split up so I'll just wait here. Hopefully, Gene has found them in the wave pool and they'll all show up together. Oh, there's Justin and Rachel now. Oh, and Rachel is all upset. Bottom line - she didn't want to leave the wave pool.
I think we'll just skip the next couple hours and title the missing part Rachel's very first spanking. I always thought that by nearly 12 years old the spankings would be ending, not just beginning.
Well, that wasn't exactly how I expected to spend my 20th Anniversary. I hope the rest of the day turns out better.
Tonight is the only thing we really planned for this vacation. We're eating at the 5:00, but we have to be there at 4:30. And I want to go early to get lots of pictures. So everybody hop in the van because we're going to Fort Wilderness! We have to take a bus from the parking lot to the other end. Let's go through the petting farm. This is a cute set up and great for children, but I want to go see the horses at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch. They're so gorgeous, I wish we were allowed to touch them.

There's still plenty of time before dinner, let's go to the Trading Post and see if there's anything that we just have to have. I guess I'll just stick to window shopping. But I am really hot and thirsty. How about a Coke? We can sit down in the air conditioning at Crockett's Tavern and enjoy our drink. By then it will be time to go next door to Pioneer Hall. Yep, tonight's our night for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue. Gene and I haven't been here since our honeymoon. I think the kids are really going to like this.
I made reservations so late that I was sure that we'd be on the upper floor, but we're down here. This is great! We all have a good view and here comes the salad and rolls. And here comes the show! This is just as much fun as I remembered. Dig in, the food is pretty good. I really like the chicken.
Now, the moment I've been waiting for. They're asking who is celebrating a Birthday. Oh, three different people and we all get to sing Happy Birthday to them. We know what's coming next and Gene is saying in my ear... You are not going to raise your hand. You're not saying anything. You're not raising your hand... Now she's asking about other celebrations, like anniversaries and... I scream "WOO" at the top of my lungs and throw both hands up in the air. :) Did you see her jump? I think I surprised her. What? She wants us to dance while they play "Let Me Call You Sweetheart." Eek! We've never danced together. Oh, well, here we go. Hope I don't step on Gene's toes. Hope he doesn't step on mine. We made it - and it only took 20 years!
My goodness, wasn't that fun? Even the kids really enjoyed it. All we have to do now is figure out which bus goes back to the parking lot. I guess you've noticed that we're early night kind of folks and we're going to sleep early tonight for sure so we can go to the Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning. Hopefully, we'll beat the crowds. Good-night!
