Day 5 - 7/2
Good morning! Gene is golfing this morning so we got to sleep in. One of the holes is right out back and we can see it from our balcony. See, there's the green.
The kids got to see him, but I slept just a little bit too late. He'll be glad you missed it, it wasn't one of his best holes. I think I'll just lie in bed and read while the kids play video games. Thank goodness they're not fighting any more! Gene went golfing early, so he'll be back soon.
There he is now. We'll give him some time to relax while we decide what to do. How do you feel about heading over to Epcot? First stop - Spaceship Earth. I'm sitting in the back with Gene, we have some cuddling to catch up on that we missed last night. :) You didn't fall asleep during the ride, did you?
We're hoping for a much more peaceful lunch today and we've decided on Biergarten. How do you feel about some bratwurst and spaetzel? We all really like this place, there's something for all of us here. Our waitress is exceptionally funny this time. And you can't find entertainment like this just anywhere.

Did you have fun? Good meal? Let's take a walk. It's around 3:30 and I've heard that they've been having previews at Mission: Space every afternoon, starting at 4:00. Let's take a little walk over there and see what's going on. Well, there are a couple of people talking to the cast members out front, but I don't think many people realize what might happen so it's not too crowded. Let's say hello and hang around a little bit. I have all these little bouncy balls, let's give them to the cast members. Here you go, you can play catch while you're waiting. They're having fun playing catch and we're having fun watching them. But it is almost 4:30. Gene just overheard that one of the centrifuges wasn't working properly. Let's just wait and talk to the cast members a few more minutes. Hey, you guys, how about if I take your picture, I'll put it on the internet. Smile!

Oh boy, here comes someone wearing a tie... cross your fingers... YES, he's welcoming us to the preview of Mission: Space. We get to ride Mission: Space! It's so cool in here, check out the gravity wheel. I have to take some pictures of this!
It's time for the pre-show and then we'll be getting into our capsule, I better put my camera away. There's a storage bin right in front of your knees where you can put your stuff. Pull your restraint down, they're closing the door. Here we go - Blast Off! Oh My God, this is sooo cool! It really feels like we're flying up into outer space! I don't feel any spinning, do you? Sling-shot around the moon - wow, the moon looked really close. A quick three-month nap and here we are at Mars. Oh, no, asteroids. Time to grab your joystick and steer us in for a landing... a little to the left... lift the front end a little... STOP! We made it! Whoa, look down there, good thing we didn't go over the edge.
That was a great ride! My knees are a little shaky. How are you doing, did you feel sick? Me, neither. Let's check out the training center and the shop. I think one ride was enough for the day. I don't want to push my luck. I can't believe I was so worried, that wasn't scary at all.
We're leaving Epcot because Justin has a headache. No one knows what they want to do, so let's go back to the room and re-group. Justin wants to stay in the room and get rid of his headache so the rest of us are going to give him some peace and quiet and we're going back to the Marketplace. We need to stop in Basin and buy some more shampoo bars and some bath bombs for my Mom. I already bought her a big canvass bag over at Rafiki's Planet Watch, I'll but some girly bath products inside. This will be her thank-you souvenir for taking care of the animals while we're away.
As long as we're here, let's go over to the Lego store, I want to get some pictures. I've never been inside before, I didn't realize they had more things built inside.
I confess, I never played with Legos - and I'm not ready to start now. Let's talk about dinner. Justin has a chicken wrap to eat if he gets hungry, so we're not going to disturb him. Lunch was late and we're not real hungry, but we need something. Gene has always wanted to eat at Boatwright's Dining Hall, let's go over there. Gene is getting a steak, I'm having the Crab Cake appetizer and both Rachel and I are having baked potatoes. Oh, great, now Rachel discovers that she likes crab cakes. Yes, Rachel, you may have another one.
Well, we didn't seem to do a whole lot, but the day is over. It sure was more pleasant than yesterday. See you tomorrow.
