Day 6+
Okay, so we're on the bus, heading back to All Star Movies to pick up our luggage and drive to the airport. But I don't want to leave and Gene doesn't want to leave, either. We start talking about what we would have to do to be able to stay just a few more days... stuff like getting the kids home and talking my Mom into babysitting... just minor little details :-) The next thing I know, we're doing it! We get to the airport and I'm tearing apart our luggage, trying to separate some clean clothes for us while Gene checks in the kids. Steve's Mom is going to pick them up at the airport and take them home.
Talk about spur of the moment!!!!
I hurry over to the counter to change the two adult tickets and then we head to the gate to get the kids on the plane. And then it doesn't take off. And then it doesn't take off. And then it doesn't take off. Turns out the pilot had worked too many hours and was too tired to fly anymore. And there was no replacement, so they had to fly one in. The plane did finally take off and made it home safely, but much later than expected.
And Gene and I checked into Dixie Landings! It was just as nice as I remembered. Of course, it was too late to do anything so we went to sleep. But we were at Disney World for three more days!
The next three days we get to be the kids. Thursday is spent at the Animal Kingdom, where we take in the Festival of the Lion King, grab a quick lunch at Tusker House, and finally get to see Devine.
Yes, there is a person in there somewhere!
In the evening we get to go to Jelly Rolls, the dueling pianos bar on the Boardwalk. We love to come here and sing along, but we can't always get here because kids aren't allowed. So, we have a few drinks and sing a few songs and in comes Pixie and Wayne to join in the fun. Now comes one of the funniest things I've ever seen; everyone's singing the songs except Pixie because she doesn't know the words so she stares at Wayne and tries to move her mouth the same way as his so it looks like she's singing. She looks like she's belting out songs, but her mouth is just moving and there's no sound and she looks like she's concentrating so hard. It's hard to sing along because we're too busy laughing.
On Friday, Gene and Wayne go golfing and Pix and I explore the Magic Kingdom. We meet up with the guys when they're finished and take Pixie and Wayne back to the Wilderness Lodge. Then we head over to Epcot, where we meet up with Lisa and Dan and watch Tapestry of Nations. Lisa tells us that Wendy invited everyone back to her room to see Illuminations, but I'm not really interested in seeing a room... until Wendy and Barry show up and Wendy really wants company, so I take her by the arm and we head for the Yacht Club. We cross the bridge and make the turn for International Gateway and I can hear the band in England that sounds like the Beatles. This low-class, Cockney accent takes over my mouth and I say, "Oh, it's 'a Beatles, let's scream an' rip our shirts off." And I talked in that accent all the way to the Yacht Club, where Wendy opened the door to the Admiral Suite...

And I talked in that accent all night. We were all laughing hysterically (except for Gene, who thought I was drunk, but I wasn't). Pixie and Wayne even joined us a little later.
We talked and laughed all evening and I think Gene had to drag me away. The more he kept telling me to stop, the worse I got. He really thought I was drunk, until he woke up the next morning and the accent was still there. What a great night it was to end our vacation. We only had time for one last ride on Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster on Saturday and then it was time to go back to the airport and catch our plane for home.
