Day 6 - 10/23
Time to wake up! Today is the day we play in Disney-MGM Studios.
We're here early. They're letting people in the park, but haven't dropped the rope on Hollywood Boulevard, yet. Are you ready... get set... STAMPEDE! And I think we're all going the same place. There's an ocean of people rushing down Sunset Boulevard. We get fast passes for Tower of Terror and then rush over to Rock 'n' roller Coaster.
There's no line and we walk right in. A quick meeting with Aerosmith...
...and then we're ready for our limo.
5... 4... 3... 2... 1
WooHoo! What a rush! And the best news is that we have plenty of time and the line is so short that we get to do it all over again!
Are you ready to enter the Twilight Zone? Let's go! We don't have to wait in line, because we have fast passes. Just keep to the right and walk right by.
Everyone into the library to listen to Rod Serling. Now, down to the boiler room. Here's the elevator. It's a little different than it used to be. There are no more lap bars, every seat has a seatbelt. Hold on tight, here we go....
Glad to see you're still with us. :) Are you ready for something new? They just opened up a new exhibit with a set from the new Haunted Mansion movie, which hasn't been released, yet.
Let's go in. This is really cool, but I'm afraid we can't take any pictures. They even have extra cast members standing around to make sure no one sneaks a picture. That's a great looking fireplace! Now I'm really looking forward to the movie.
There's one more thing I'd really like to do while we're here today. So... let's go to
Star Tours!
But, before we go in I want to get a picture of the kids...
Now, we can go in. I really like this attraction. Did you have fun? Are you getting hungry, yet?
Good. We've decided to try out The Coral Cafe at the Dolphin. It's just a short boat ride away. Well, it's not there anymore. But there's a new restaurant here called Fresh. Let's give it a try.
Yummm, the food is excellent! And very fresh... even though it's a buffet, they cook a lot of it to order. I'm sure we'll be back here again.
The kids are heading home, now, but Gene and I are taking a walk over to the DVC office. They have Saratoga Springs rooms set up and I'm dying to see the decor. We'll just ask here at the desk if we can take a tour and get some pictures. No problem.
They have a studio and a 1-bedroom villa set up. I love the decor of Saratoga Springs! Check out the dark furniture, it looks very rich. I think we're going to try to stay here next year. :) Thanks for showing us through and letting me take pictures.
Okay, we can go home and relax now. Cathy is on her own today because Michelle is under the weather, and she's going to stop over for a visit. It's a short visit, since it's getting close to dinner time, but there's plenty of time for laughs. :)
The kids don't want to go to dinner. They'll find something to eat here. But Gene and I are going to the Cape May Cafe for their New England Clam Bake. We've been here a few times in the past. Most meals here have been very good, but the last time we ate here it wasn't too good. Luckily, the food is excellent this time. I love the clams!
Best of all, we're right at the resort. This is handy tonight, because Survivor is on and we're going to run back to the villa and watch it.
Now for the worst part of vacation... it's time to pack. But we're not leaving WDW, yet, we're moving to a studio villa tomorrow. I hope it's ready early. Tomorrow will be our last full day.
